Leena Kisonen is a graphic artist based in Helsinki, Finland. She works in the mix of illustration, graphic design and art.

Leena’s playful artwork has been used from books to restaurant walls and from fashion to spaces. Her worldwide clientele includes Minna Parikka, Blueprint, Swissquote and Le Monde Diplomatique among others. Her style has also won many clients in Japan, such as Isetan, Epos Card and Orbis.

Leena’s work is a blend of delicious colour bursts, friendly vibes and quirky hints of mystery. She creates her works through paper cut and digital processing. Her signature style was born in 2006 during her studies in Poland, where she fell in love with local traditional paper cut art. Her experiments with the technique led to the digital style she now uses to create her artwork.

Leena loves to get inspired by the hidden beautiful things in our world and bringing them into her artwork. Some of her favourite sources of inspiration are folk art, the 1960s, Finnish nature and Japanese aesthetics.

Leena has an MA in Graphic Design from Aalto University in Helsinki. She has also studied in Poland and in Germany. Currently she works at Paper Bee studio in Helsinki. Read Less
