Stack Overflow
UX Researcher
As the sole researcher at Stack Overflow, I balance not only my responsibility to prioritize and focus on the most important, biggest research questions, but also the requirements of establishing a new research presence in a company.
I work on research throughout the company, spanning developer-facing products, recruiter-facing products, and even advertiser-facing products. I work with VPs and management at the company to prioritize research needs, scope them appropriately, and then execute projects quickly and thoroughly, from recruitment through to analysis and sharing. I also work with teams on product strategy and planning based on research.
I also dedicate a significant amount of time to nurturing research as a practice within the company. I create and hold qualitative research trainings for designers and other product team members. I consult on research strategies and plans with teams conducting their own research. I also spend time on refining processes and logistics for conducting research, as well as tracking our research budget and managing vendor relationships.
