For anyone looking at my semester 2 CAP art, this paragraph will help contextualise it.

Basically I'm looking at ideation in the form of visualising dreams I have. I am keeping a dream diary and attempting to translate the mish mosh of images experienced during a specific dream sequence into a digital painting/image. The outcomes generally follow the conventions of surrealist art.

For research purposes I am drawing inspiration from existing surrealist artists such as Salvador Dali (of course), Vladimir Kush, Frida Kahlo among others.

The purpose is to generally hone my digital painting skills - which is something I have always taken great pleasure in, but never really invested sufficient time in it. I also want to improve the way I communicate ideas from my head on to the canvas, as it were. I always struggle in getting things looking exactly how they do in my head so I think this will really open up my ability to translate ideas effectively. Read Less
