I live my life constantly asking what and why in hopes that I will one day allow my mind peace with gaining understanding as to Who I Am. I, hopefully, will be so lucky as to achieve, through the pure nature of perception, my place in this saturated society of identities and materialism.

I was once told, “Artwork should reflect ones original idea of a gesamtkunstwerk.” I take this with me today as my motivation and inspiration for not only the work that I produce, but how I visualize my environment. The word, gesamtkunstwerk [guh۔zahmt۔koonst۔verk], comes from the German language that holds meaning as a complete work of art. As I apply this to my work, each piece explores reason as it parallels developing growth of how I identify with humanity. I am constantly being intrigued by what I am exposed to. When I create it means that I have a need to release energy, ideas, concerns, and thoughts through a source of medium. My creation is my voice, it speaks from my soul and evokes a voice that cannot be spoken.

I am exposed to everything around me, whether I immediately recognize it or not. I can’t help but wonder what our society would be without need and desire. This fictional world inspires me to challenge the reality of this relationship humanity has with things, people, and themselves; ultimately separating myself from society stereotypes. I am disturbed with the idea of being compared with, or put in these fabricated categories that have been made to define the people we are. I believe everyone possesses their own unique soul; however, there are these contrived stereotypes that are now ingrained in the minds of popular society.

My attempt to find identity and reason is through the act of conceptualization.

My work is motivated and inspired by natural beauty, simplicity and the under-considered.

Creating is a way that I find my center; it is what I can always rely on in this ever inconsistent world.
My drive, my source material, my research, everything, comes from observing and asking questions about this abstract world I am inhabiting.

I relish in the opportunity to experiment and develop in pursuit of something that I actually believe in. Art aids the identity of Who I Am, speaks the voice that I can not and inflicts peace and harmony into my soul.
