Formerly the Assistant Director of Career and Employment Services at Kansas State University, Karl Eric Kandt holds more than two decades of experience serving in the higher education sector, and served in the U.S. Army Reserves for five years. Karl Kandt has served as a member of numerous professional organizations, including the National, Midwest, and Kansas Associations of Colleges and Employers; the National Collegiate Athletic Association; the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics; and the American and Kansas Associations of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers.

Karl Kandt completed his undergraduate studies at Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communications with a minor in Business. He earned his Master of Science in Counselor Education from his alma mater, and later received a Master of Education in Sports Administration from Wichita State University.

Karl Kandt began his professional career in 1994, as the Assistant to the Director in the Office of Student Financial Aid at Emporia State University. He continued to serve at Emporia through 2001, as the Coordinator of Student Recruitment in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and later as the Associate Director for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. In July 2001, he relocated to Wichita State University, where he took a position as the Academic Coordinator of the Athletic Student Services Department. Mr. Kandt served in this role until he was hired as Assistant Director of Career and Employment Services at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas.

In addition to his work in higher education, Mr. Kandt served in various positions in the U.S. Army reserves between 1999 and 2004. He began his army career as a Transportation Corps Officer, and later served as an Executive Officer for the 89th Regional Support Command and as a Movement Control Officer with the 450th Transportation Battalion.

Currently, he directs a part-time, family-run farming and ranching operation, Kandt Family Farming and Ranching, in Herington, Kansas. Read Less
