DePaul University - Department Of Art, Media & Design

Student Graphic Designer

For the department of Art, Media, & Design I worked under faculty and staff to create flyers, brochures, posters, newsletters, specialty print handouts, and postcards for university wide and public art shows, exhibitions as well as department specific course offerings. Although some projects have strict guidelines, I was also given the opportunity to organically conceptualize my own ideas for designs. Some events for which I created material included the DePaul Student Juried Art Exhibition, the university wide art showcase, “I AM I”, and the Senior Students Thesis Exhibition 2011 to name a few.

The Ocean Agency

Design Intern

The Ocean Agency is a digital marketing firm which strategically executes SEO marketing campaigns, social media marketing campaigns, and builds content managed websites and micro-sites that focus on organization of content, usability, and overall increase in marketability. I worked under developers and web designers to create designs and templates which were used for client websites and social media campaigns. I created ads and web images which found themselves realized in social media campaigns. These digital campaigns would make use of Facebook, Twitter, and blogging platforms run through wordpress.org.

StyleChicago.com

Graphic Design Intern

StyleChicago.com is a Chicago-based company that connects top brands, merchants, venues & service providers to upscale consumers through internet and e-mail marketing. As the graphic design intern I created both web and print designs for over 50 different clients in the fashion, restaurant, and interior design fields. I created web banners which occupied StyleChicago.com, their clients websites, and social media websites such as Facebook and Twitter. As the only in house graphic designer at the time I was also given the opportunity to act as creative director for their annual fashion shows and expos which took place at Chicago’s very own Millennium Park. I created large scale posters, logos, postcards, and web banners for “The Art of Fashion Runway Show 2010” and “Fashion Chicago, a Designer Shopping Event 2010”.

Rockit Ranch Productions

Graphic Design Intern

Rockit Ranch Productions is a premier entertainment company bringing a diverse portfolio of venues to the city of Chicago. Their venues include “Rockit Bar and Grill”(River North and Wrigleyville), “Sunda”— their Asian fusion restaurant, and the premiere VIP nightclub, “The Underground”. I created multiple web banners and advertisements which frequented their individual venue websites, social media sites, as well as the digital screens which are found throughout the interiors of their venues. I created flyers, posters, postcards, full and half page ads in magazines and newspapers such as the RedEye. I was given the opportunity to superhead three major Underground nightclub events. Acting as “design lead” for a team of interns I conceptualized the design for flyers, web and print ads, and posters from sketchbook to printers and implementation, for the events of “Havana UG”, “London UG”, and “The Modern Gatsby UG”— a series which revolved around the idea of global underground party scenes from the past and present.
