I had a wide-ranging position that touched on every aspect of an email newsletter business. I wrote HTML templates, configured domains, and set up API integrations for mass emails, with over 1 million emails per day total volume. I created/enhanced lead collection and polling plugins for the company's Wordpress websites, created/enhanced Wordpress themes, contributed to an advanced Node-based mailing management tool, created a GoLang application to manage push notifications to mobile devices, and created React-based user interfaces. I frequently collaborated with outside vendors and occasionally supervised other employees.

As the web developer on the marketing team for a hospital with over 3000 employees, I was responsible for all of the business's public-facing web sites. I also created employee-facing projects, including a "charity auction" and "send a card" web apps.

I was initially hired as an illustrator working primarily with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and PhotoShop. I contributed to several ATP books, including “Carpentry”, “Circuit Breakers”, and “HVAC.” My illustrations are featured prominently in these books, and I laid out many of the chapters.

About 6 months in to my employment, I became a Digital Media Developer, where I do a variety of work using PHP, JavaScript, ActionsScript, and Adobe CS to design and program websites and applications.

I taught basic-level classes in Adobe Illustrator, PhotoShop, Flash, and Dreamweaver, as well as photography. I taught at least one class each semester, sometimes as many as three.

I worked on a wide variety of projects, including web sites, web applications, online ads, photography, videography, animation, and graphic design for various printed and digital pieces. I used all components of Adobe Creative Suite and all of my above-mentioned skills.

I designed graphics for shirts and other apparel using Adobe Illustrator. I was directly involved in all aspects of production, from consulting with customers to applying ink to garments. I developed a strong working knowledge of the silkscreen printing process.

I was responsible for producing ads for daily publication, on schedule and within tight guidelines. Ads were laid out in Adobe InDesign, with the use of other Creative Suite components. I developed a strong working knowledge of CMYK offset printing and general newspaper production workflow. I also occasionally managed special sections, which was my favorite part of the job.

At Olivet, I studied photography, video production, graphic design, artistic composition, stage directing, acting, writing, and communication theory.
