Ordinary Folk is looking for a talented and versatile Designer who excels in both graphic and communications design. This role is perfect for a creative individual with a strong sense of commercial design and the ability to develop engaging visual content for a range of mediums. As our Designer, you will be instrumental in crafting ads, social media content, and various marketing materials, playing a crucial role in shaping our visual identity and communication strategies in Japan.

Key Responsibilities:

Visual Content Creation:

Design compelling graphics and layouts for digital platforms, including social media, websites, and email campaigns.

Create print materials like brochures, flyers, and outdoor advertising, ensuring brand consistency and appeal.

Brand Identity Development:

Maintain and evolve Ordinary Folk’s brand identity, ensuring it resonates with the Japanese market while adhering to global branding standards.

Develop branding materials, including logos, colour schemes, and typography.

Communications Design:

Work on the visual aspect of communication strategies, aligning visual design with verbal messaging.

Collaborate with the communications team to ensure that design enhances the clarity and impact of messaging.

Cross-Functional Teamwork:

Partner with various departments to translate marketing and business objectives into creative design solutions.

Provide design insights and perspectives to support marketing and communications initiatives.

Project Management:

Manage design projects from conceptualization to execution, meeting deadlines and quality standards.

Oversee external design resources as required.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Communications Design, or a related field.
4+ years of experience in graphic design and communications, preferably within a commercial or agency setting.
Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in both digital and print design.
Proficiency in design software, particularly Adobe Creative Suite.
Solid understanding of design principles, typography, and brand development.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills in Japanese (N1) and English.
