Overview of Job Description:

 

Currently seeking a creative and enthusiastic gift designer to join the team. This is a mid-level, hands-on position developing gifts from concept to presentation. Our ideal designer has hands- on experience building and displaying gifts, working with a sourcing team to develop new products, a creative background in design or in a related industry (gifts, hard-goods and soft-goods), and has a natural ability to keep up with current and in-high-demand design trends.

 

This Position is Primarily Responsible for, and Not Limited to, Knowledge of:

 

Design and build food, candy, liquor & specialty gifts for Catalog/Ecommerce, Wholesale/Mass customers and Special/Custom Order accounts.

Hands on assembly of gifts either from existing designs and/or create new gifts to meet specifications.

Analyze costs and price point gifts to meet target sell costs and margins.

Sourcing and selecting containers and reusable components for use in the gifts for customer accounts.

All stages of gift rebuilds and designs to meet company and customer specifications.

Provide assistance and support to upper management with facilitating design assignments for admin teams.

Attend and assist with customer presentations.

Daily reporting and upkeep via Excel and company software.

Updating and staying current to design trends that are in-high-demand.

Possibly travel 2-4 times a year overseas.

Provide direction to the Graphics team for gift, product design.

 

 

Administrative and Other Responsibilities:

 

Must be able provide written status reports/updates and responses on pending projects including presentation, recaps and sourcing requests via Excel or Outlook/email communication.

Attend daily design, sales and sourcing team meetings.

Must be in continuous training on all aspects of the Inventory, Costs and Product Development of consumable products used in gifting.

Provide support and some direction to staff in organizing and maintaining account paperwork for all customers.

Other various tasks related to the design process as directed by management.

 

Typical Physical Demands:

 

Light to moderate lifting of boxes and baskets required up to 35 pounds. 

Occasional use of ladder at times to access containers, accessories and food items in the Design areas.

 

Typical Working Conditions:

 

Office environment but will have access and need to work in the warehouse to access inventory and gift samples. 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

Must be able to work overtime as needed (voluntary and mandatory).

MS-Office proficiency including Excel, Outlook and Power Point.

Must have price pointing knowledge/skills.

Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Must demonstrate the ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment.

Must have excellent organizational skills.

 

Education:

 

AA, BA in a Design/ Creative Arts discipline or equivalent experience.

 

Experience:

 

Full or part-time experience in a related or complementary industry.
