QuadPhoto, Quad/Graphics Photography Services Division is seeking a Photo Production Assistant to add to our expanding studio dedicated to producing quality photography exclusively for Colony Brands in Monroe, WI. The Photo Production Assistant will support the Photographers, Stylists and Merchandisers in our highly demanding, high-volume production photo studio environment.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Working cooperatively with the Stylists and Merchandisers.
Tracking projects, maintaining shot logs, and tracking sheets
Prep clothing, bedding and other merchandise which includes steaming, ironing, etc. Organize samples based on shots, load racks with prepped samples and return it to merchandise coordinator.
Working with Photographers, Stylists and Merchandisers to insure deadlines are met.
Assisting multiple photographers of hard line products, soft goods/apparel, people, products and room sets.
Set building and assembly skills. Practical working knowledge of hand and power tools. Will be involved in set assembly in the photo bays, transport of set materials and surfaces between the shooting bays, workshop or storage areas
Working directly with Studio Producer and the Photographers to understand internal studio schedules, the "who does what, when."
Reviewing equipment needs with all Photographers by moving lighting equipment and pulling props.
Assisting in maintaining a high level of client satisfaction and confidence.
Performing, maintaining and assisting in all reviews and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
Minimum of one year professional industry experience as a Photography Assistant, Production Assistant, Intern or Trainee in a high-end, high-volume catalog, advertising or commercial photography studio environment
Strong organizational skills and analytical thinking required
Experience with merchandise prepping; steaming and ironing soft goods
General understanding and working knowledge of still photography techniques, principles, equipment, and lighting techniques for commercial photography.
Working knowledge of current photography equipment, tools and software.
Proficiency with Apple/Macintosh computer platform/software.
Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office software – specifically Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
Working knowledge and experience with CaptureOne (raw image capture software), Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Bridge, Acrobat, In-Design, Illustrator, Final Cut (Mac) and Adobe Premier preferred
