Sr. User Experience Designer

The Innovation & Design Group within Zebra Technologies is an award-winning global customer research and design team positioned within Zebra’s Chief Technology Office. This team’s focus is on delivering compelling physical product design solutions and performance-based user experiences for the enterprise market.

As part of this team, designers are challenged to envision new products that solve highly complex problems and have the ability to carry these solutions into high-volume production.

Our customers’ users work in harsh environments with difficult problems and our design team is challenged with making sense of all this. Every day at Zebra you will face a unique problem to solve and there are few companies which can offer this.

We are looking for an individual who can provide thought leadership and design brilliance in the areas of User Experience for desktop and mobile applications. As Senior UX Designer, you will be hands-on and also lead a team of in-house or external designers to deliver multiple projects to life and into production. You will work with internal and external stakeholders to identify requirements, craft a vision, and produce and implement an execution plan. Leads internal design meetings to plan design or design review activities.

Completes all phases of design projects on a variety of levels at different complexity.

Creates site maps, page flows, interaction models and wireframe specifications to be used by the development team.

Conducts research to inform or refine designs. This includes determining research goals, creating a test plan and facilitator's script, recruiting users, executing the study protocol and analyzing the results.

Presents work to key stakeholders, developers and designers to effectively communicate design vision and intent.

Generates time estimates for the completion of tasks and deliverables.

Maintains an understanding in multiple technical areas and a knowledge of latest technology and design techniques.

Understands customer needs and reflects those needs in design work.

Develops positive relationships with other engineering disciplines and other functions, such as sales, manufacturing, and marketing to support customer needs.

Mentors other UX designers.

Exercises judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.


Ability to deliver high quality work on time

Self-motivated with a positive attitude

Online portfolio that demonstrates an understanding of user-centered design and design thinking

Proficiency in industry-standard design software (Sketch, Illustrator, InVision)

Familiarity with web languages and libraries (HTML, CSS, Angular, React, etc.)

Required Education & ExperienceBachelors degree and 4+ year experience or Masters degree and 2+ year experience.
