Content Developer –Videography and Photography

We’re searching for a Content Developer who can generate photo and video content for our award winning Old Elk, Dry Town, and Nooku products. We’re looking for a creative professional to communicate each brands’ story through digital photography and videography. This role will work closely with the Brand Manager, and partner with Marketing and Graphic Design to build brand’s people want to follow and be a part of.


About the Team

Old Elk’s Branding and Marketing teams work to develop a strategic visual identity and experience to help our customers discover, believe in, be inspired by, and remember what makes our products unique. We collaborate closely with Senior Leadership to solve hard problems, ensure a consistent brand identity, and push its creativity forward to keep Old Elk Distillery products and brand’s fresh and engaging.

About the Role

As Content Developer, you will have the opportunity to produce content that will extend to a national audience through web, print, and social media. Day to day, you will project manage, develop an asset bank, and will be tasked with creating unique visual solutions across each brand’s marketing platforms.

In This Role, You Must:

Have significant experience (at a minimum 3 years) in content development. Ideally having experience in generating lifestyle and studio based content for national advertisements, signage, web, and social media in large and small formats.  

Love building new brands, developing narratives, achieving a high esthetic, while managing multiple projects. It is imperative you are comfortable working in a variety of styles and genres while managing a consistency within each respective brand.

Have strong experience researching, locating unique environments, working with props, set design, and acquiring talent to achieve each brands’ unique content needs. This role will include working in the field or studio and partnering with special resources defined by the project goals, budget and requirements.  

Be comfortable working within short timelines, as well as on larger projects. Collaborating closely with Branding and Marketing leadership while fostering inter-team collaborate and defining roles and responsibilities.

Be comfortable contributing to marketing and banding strategies, design critiques, conceptualizing, and ideation. Value and understand, brand standards, guidelines, feedback, critiques, and iteration in the creation of new work.

In This Role, You Will:

Collaborate closely with Branding and Marketing leadership.

Use video and photography to create relevant content that is aligned with the project’s goals and requirements to create a unified brand identify.

Help shape content strategy through research, observation, and testing.

Optimize and edit content to be used in different formats and styles depending on use case, platform and brand’s visual identity.

Help shape and evolve the creative team’s culture.

Travel with and participate in industry and consumer events to capture and share experiences for each brand and product.

Develop new ways to communicate each brand’s promise visually. 

About You:

Have a portfolio of video and photography that demonstrates a strong command of visual design, aesthetic, visual voice, continuity, and visual problem solving. 

Be comfortable working in Adobe Light Room, Photoshop and video editing software.

Natural leadership abilities including great communication skills (written, verbal and via presentation) along with the ability to give/receive critical feedback.

Be comfortable to take the lead and guide other employees when necessary. (ie: photoshoots and how-to videos)

Work well in a fast moving, iterative environment.

Be comfortable using data and consumer research to support creative decisions.

Are unafraid to change your opinion in the face of new information or understanding of the product goals—you have strong beliefs, but you’re open-minded. 

Want to seek out and develop a content development process that encourages collaboration between other designer and teams.

You are a creative thinker capable of translating vision and big ideas into meaningful, beautiful content.
