Growing up in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, I was always surrounded by an extremely vibrant culture. My dad used to work organizing the famous Carnaval parade in Rio. Lots of his friends were musicians, stylists, costume designers and dancers. From a really young age, I was exposed to all that, and it’s undeniable that it had an impact on me and my work. From the use of unexpected vibrant colors to the energetic flow I try to inject in every illustration, it’s all derived from those awesome years in my childhood.

At 18 I moved to Australia, where I lived for nearly 10 years. There, I had the opportunity to study and work with very talented people from all around the globe. Australia, UK, Sweden, France, China, Hong Kong and New Zealand. From them, I learned about creative thinking, strategy, art direction, typography, layouts and grids. In my opinion, those really were the foundation years of my design career.

That experience added some balance to the ‘more is more’ creative approach that I was exposed to in Brazil and took me to where I’m today.

These days, I live and work in California. When I’m not at work I’m usually outdoors somewhere exploring with my girlfriend and my dog.

Some of the things I created got awarded at international design shows: D&AD, Cannes, Tokyo & NY Type Directors Club, Brand New, Graphis, AGDA and AIGA are a few worth mentioning.
