Based in New York City, Joann Baney is a member of the Executive Master of Public Administration program faculty at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA). In addition to teaching within SIPA, Joann Baney has taught courses for the university’s Executive Master of Business Administration program, the Speech Department, and the Graduate School of Public Health.

Professor Baney also has taught at Dartmouth’s Tuck School and New York University’s Stern School. Outside of the United States, she has taught courses at the King Khalid Foundation in Saudi Arabia and Externado University in Bogota, Columbia.

In addition work in academia, Joann Baney is cofounder and vice president of Professional Development Company, Inc., a consulting firm that specializes in communications. Through the company, she works with senior executives and leads training programs for a number of large corporations.

Professor Baney earned a BA from the University of Chicago and an MBA from Columbia University. She also wrote Guide to Interpersonal Communications, published by Prentice Hall. Read Less
