My independent design practice is built on more than two decades of experience, including 14 years as a founding partner of Toronto-based Soapbox. In that time I've taken on just about every kind of communications project, from annual reports to brand identities, corporate websites to marketing campaigns, responsibility reports to publication design. I've also worked with just about every kind of client, including large corporations, entrepreneurial startups, professional firms, educational institutions and not-for-profit organizations. I'm especially passionate about the not-for-profit work, because it gives me opportunities to help people who really are making a difference.

A New Concept sums up several aspects of what my business is all about. For starters, I believe that great design is driven by strong, differentiating ideas. It's about thinking strategically with clients, developing key messages and communicating them with the ideal mix of words and images. A New Concept also refers to my flexible approach: I may work directly with a client, or through another design firm, or as part of a virtual team. However I'm brought on board, I immerse myself in a project while helping to define a clear process. And as a solo act, I can manage my responsibilities on my own terms. That's a new concept for me.
