Thesis: The Playful Exchange, Purposeful Play and The Art of Deeply Noticing.

Abstract: In this thesis, I propose an interactive storytelling model that initiates purposeful play and deeply noticing with creative collaboration and meaningful exchanges that help guide youth toward self-empowerment. The notion of empowerment is compelling and much employed across many fields and professional practices. My empowerment process model builds on prior coaching work and is guided by the following principles: articulating empowerment as a connected and recurring progression of exchange, identifying core elements of that process, and defining the process in a way that is useful to both participants and practitioners. I propose that with ideas, concepts and exercises that are easily communicated and applied, individuals are able move through the parts of the model with respect to particular goals as experience promotes reflection.
