Jaye Louis Douce
Mr
Falmouth, United KingdomI have spent 22 years in the creative world, from traditional silk screen printing through to graphic design, including all the juicy bits in the middle. I have a love for print, for real tactile finishes, things you can see, smell and touch, and I consider myself a bit a tech geek too. I have a keen eye for detail, for precision and I admire clever design solutions. I am passionate about education and our environment, and I have made it my mission to try and design responsibly, with ethics and morals at heart. I am still very much on my creative journey, finding my position through practice and I found myself gravitating towards intelligent brand and identity in recent years. I am always looking to grow, to take my learnings, share and build with others, a cleaner, more caring world. I believe clear and concise communication is a progressive, foundational building block that will help towards bigger goals, goals to offer solutions in a world screaming for answers. I want to contribute my talent with passion, with conviction and I aim to leave a mark.
Work Experience
Jaye Louis Douce Design
Designer
I design for numerous platforms apposite to the concept best relating to my design problem. I specialise in using research and strategy to facilitate sensory communication. I am fascinated by human behaviour and how we can educate through simple, clever design.
I have found graphics such a diverse subject that it is essential to experiment. I believe this process creates beautiful outcomes and i’ve become very passionate about problem solving through critical thinking.
I currently design for many businesses and charities, all with inspiring success stories from our projects together.
This includes numerous design and innovation agencies in London, New York, France and Cornwall, with clients such as Falmouth University, Amnesty International, Control Arms, United Nations, ITER, BT, NHS, Shelterbox, Cadbury, Google, Carphone Warehouse and Hewlett Packard.

Nixon Design
Graphic Design Intern
I did a placement at Nixon Design Cornwall in graphic design over the summer between my second and third year in my BA (hons) degree. I found this a massive eye opener to the industry and its fast pace process. I found working as team a lot of fun and inspirationally satisfying.

H Tempest Photography
Image Editor / Retoucher / Optical Image Processing
I found this job very interesting and my passion for photography has only grown stronger ever since. My passion for attention to detail with photography and optical / digital editing started here. I edited photographs using software and occasionally optically in the traditional manner using a dark room. Unfortunately this job was seasonal due to the main client being school/university pupil photography.

Traditional Silk Screen Printer
I started a modern apprenticeship as traditional silk screen printer just after I left college. I loved the aesthetics of real ink and beautiful stock. I feel this position has given me my hunger for a perfect print finish on all my designs. I found traditional silk screen is so pleasing in so many ways.

Art-worker and Graphics artist
When I worked as silk screen printer I was appointed the company's art-worker and graphics artist. This entailed redrawing all the print work that came in to a superior standard that could be printed. Silk screen printing requires you to draw every single colour layer to a hairline in precision, this is where my thorough attention to detail grew. I still apply this passion to my current designs and art-working for all types of application.

Free hand Graphics and art-working
As I finished school I did work experience with a designer and hand rendering signmaker. This opened my eyes to the use of paint and the beauty of brush applied art work. I really enjoyed the aesthetics of hand rendered graphics and the freedom away from a screen. I will always continue to pursue the pleasure of free hand graphics and artwork.
