As Creative Director for Editorial Art at The Onion, I am responsible for overseeing the production of all imagery for the Onion Inc publications portfolio including The Onion, AV Club and The Takeout.
Using a variety of techniques including photo manipulation, photography, photo aggregation, illustration and graphic design our team of myself and five talented artists produce over 3,000 digital illustrations annually.
As the way readers consume news changes, The Onion Inc. evolves to satirize other publications and those that follow them. In addition to images provided for features and articles across The Onion and sister publication websites, our team is also involved in event design, company branding and book publications. In 2017, The Onion published its 5th book, 'The Trump Leaks' and hosted two sponsored events in Chicago and New York with our Editorial Art Department providing the imagery and design.

In addition to my responsibilities as Senior Graphics Editor, I managed the department responsibilities including record keeping, cost tracking, evolving and recruiting internship programs and organizing team responsibility structures that ensure the department is organized and efficient in meeting its requirements and expectations. The skills for this position include Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign as well as professional level photography, traditional and digital illustration, and spreadsheet record keeping.
