Irene Baranyk

Graphic Designer/Production Artist

Baltimore, MD, USA
Through design, I create the response to my clients’ communication needs. In the process of achieving this goal I am enriched not only professionally, but personally, by interfacing with every client. I believe it is this dynamic, throughout the creative process that makes for truly effective design.

Graphic design continuously provides a fresh perspective and awareness of the world around me, which in turn inspires, excites, and motivates me to create. It is my passion.

Success For All Foundation

production artist/graphic design

2004–2015
As a full time production artist within SFA’s Publications Design department, I was responsible for project-driven layouts of educational curricula. Additionally, I provided conceptualization, design, and rendered simple illustrations as needed.

To create program documents such as teacher manuals, student workbooks, and other informational material, I utilized Adobe’s Creative Suite on a daily basis—InDesign in particular, and some Illustrator and Photoshop on an as-needed basis. Occasionally, I worked with Microsoft Office Word and
PowerPoint programs to create presentation slides for conferences and trainers.

All programs and tasks were deadline driven and required attention to detail, flexibility and the ability to complete tasks in a timely manner. This position involved extensive communication and collaboration with other production team members and also with other departments such as development and media.

1999–2004
As sole designer and production artist within the Early Learning department, my responsibilities included: conceptualization, design and production of pre-K/Kindergarten curricula (program identity, curricula such as teacher manuals and supporting materials (picture cards, posters, etc.) and simple illustrations. I used the following software: Quark, Illustrator and Word.
As the Foundation grew, my position was eventually absorbed into the newly-formed Publications Design department.

Occasionally, I recorded voice-overs of children’s stories for the Media department.
