Educational Philosophy:
Inside all of us, students and teachers, there is a innate desire to strive for success. No matter what talent or gift we are bestowed with, continued development is a necessity. Not only do I encourage and focus my students in this direction, but I also model this same behavior in my own work ethic. I cannot expect my students to move in a direction if I am not focused and moving the same way.

Since my academic years, I have never allowed myself to stop learning. Everyday there are new ideas and discoveries that apply to my career field. Knowledge is a living and breathing organism. By modeling this practice in the classroom; introducing new concepts and ideas to students on a weekly basis; inspires and excites. We are living in a generation where students are constantly being bombarded left and right by images, ideas, headlines, news, social media, etc. To harness their attention span and focus students on relative assignments and topics will result in achievement that will echo on throughout their academic careers.

My classroom environment allows my students to not only be creative and inspired but also keeps the attention focused on a higher level of learning. I consistently introduce real world ideas and concepts that are a standard in the industry, which my students are intrigued by and wish to continue in their careers. Encouraging my students to strive for leadership positions and simulating real world experiences and deadlines in the classroom is where academic achievement is measured and has been shown proven. Not only do my students strive for success - they attain it.

What is this movement all about? It's really about a reformation of what faith in Christ looks like in the urban context. The Hip-Hop Generations are looking for something real and tangible. The majority of our writing team is based out of Crossover Church in Tampa, Florida leaded by the magazine's publisher Tommy 'Urban D.' Kyllonen. All graphics and design layout are provided by the magazine's creative director Edward 'spec' Bayonet of www.iamspec.com We are a faith community that focuses on those influenced by urban/hip-hop culture.
