Creative – Design and Print
Working across the complete range of external facing marketing materials such as Programmes, Magazines, special collateral such as high level communications with potential donors and wealthy supporters of the Academy. The first trained designer at the Academy, I was able to devise efficient workflow systems, quality control pipelines and develop the brand to make it more contemporary and appealing.
The British Museum
Senior Graphic Designer
Leading on production and design, specifically for the International Engagement Department and Zayed National Museum Project. Development and creation of collateral for internal and external stakeholders and clients; in charge of workflow improvement, commerce specific brand development, creating accessible graphic design (information, high-level client-facing and gateway), and initiating and implementing interdepartmental collaboration across the museum regarding visual output.
Senior Graphic Designer
Creation, development and pre-press of DVD/BluRay packaging and marketing collateral (print/digital) for licenses including Top Gear (BBC), Friday Night Dinner (Channel 4), Mad Dogs (Sky) and Dr Who (BBC).
Creative Services Manager
Worked for subsidiary Illumina Digital – initially hired to troubleshoot a £3m print/digital project for the Quality Improvement Agency, I was promoted to Senior Designer/Creative Services Manager upon the project’s successful conclusion.
I led on a number of projects for the BBC, Hollywood Classics, The Department of Education and Channel 4; I hired and supported designers, scoped and executed project plans, drew up budgets, managed the design studio and faced clients on a daily basis.
Head of Design EMEA
ADV was the top international distributor of Japanese animation for Europe and the US. I was hired to build up the EMEA creative services department.
Within a year I was promoted to Head of Design and took on a wide variety of responsibilities – apart from art direction I commissioned dubbing studios, worked with suppliers, recruited designers and developers, and created a wide variety of iconic products, some of which have acquired collectors’ status since.
I always made sure that every project was managed efficiently, with an emphasis on clear communication with all stakeholders including the head office in the US, and ADV’s Japanese and European partners.
Art direction of B2C titles (health, luxury, travel) for the US and UK markets. Commissioning of photography, overseeing production, liaison with clients, print suppliers and marketing departments were all part of my brief.
