Worked with Hallmark's 'Own Brand' team and produced a range of themed cards and gift wrap.

I worked on a variety of illustration & design briefs, creating card designs and illustrations in the ideation studio. I worked mainly with character design - illustrating characters for various occasion cards and taking a design from a sketch to a finished concept, whilst working in-line with current trends. I also learnt how to professionally finish my designs using foiling and finishing techniques. As well as this, I worked with pattern design, hand-written typography and general formatting of cards.

I undertook a variety of small project briefs, developed further skills in Adobe Illustrator and was introduced to using Adobe After Effects to produce animations. Projects included vector illustration, logo design, web layout and animation basics

I designed and produced finished artwork for Stonebridge City Farm in Nottingham after presenting my initial ideas to the New Fat team. This included logo and sub-brand logo design, corporate manual design and layout as well as a selection of promotional items. I developed my skills in specific software and gained valuable experience of being in a design studio environment.

Sales role delivering excellent customer service and encouraging repeat business. The role involved meeting weekly sales targets, selling additional products, resolving customer querires and complaints as well as dealing with telephone queries, sales and requests. As well as maintaining a comprehensive knowledge of the merchandise and offering advice to customers, I helped complete stocktaking tasks, assisted in the visual merchandising of the shop/arranging displays and often assisted with staff training.

In my spare time I write and run my own beauty and lifestyle blog - 'Bird's Words'. I have been writing regularly for about 4 years and creating my own content has meant I have developed a great deal of experience within social media communications and promotion. I have built upon my photography skills and regularly use Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to perfect my photographs and overall blog appearance. I also designed every aspect of my blog layout with basic HTML and web skills.

My blog is a big personal success for me and has allowed me the opportunity to network and work with PR companies and beauty brands, as well as other bloggers. I have had the chance to work alongside many brands - including Benefit, Feel Unique, Enrapture, John Frieda, Balance Me, Denman, Decleor, Love Me Beauty, QVC and Avon to name a selection. I also run a small advertisement feature alongside my work and studies and have appeared in a number of online articles/interviews.

'Bird's Words' was shortlisted for a Cosmopolitan 'Best Established Beauty Blog' Award in 2013 out of over 40,000 entrants and continues to grow and develop every week.
