Guilherme Costa

Visual Designer & Digital Art Director

Porto, Portugal
I’m a fast paced, delivery focused, creative individual with a passion for web/app design and user experience. I love making things and help other people make things. I'm constantly looking for the next big challenge and I keep testing my limits in order to step out of my comfort zone. I try to learn something new every day and to evolve as a professional designer and thinker.

When away from my amazingly organised working desk, you can find me having fun with my wife and my daughters, doing photography and walking across the beautiful streets of Porto.

I am currently working at Farfetch, as a Senior User Interface Designer.

Specialties: UI/UX design; mobile design; web design and front-end development (HTML 5, CSS 3, JS); graphic design; art direction; creativity; organisation; motivation; work discipline and sense of humor.

Work Experience

Farfetch

Senior User Interface Designer

In September 2015, I was invited by Farfetch to integrate the newly created mobile design team. As the first designer of the company to be hired to join the team in Porto, I had the opportunity to work on the design and implementation of native applications for iOS and Android.
During this period, I've divided my time between the cities of London and Porto, following the work of England based colleagues, and, at the same time, making my presence felt by integrating the development teams in Portugal.
Products developed over this period proved to be very successful in the industry of luxury goods, having been very well accepted and adopted by the wide range of high demanding Farfetch customers.

Blip.pt - Betfair Portugal

Senior Visual Designer

I had the privilege to be part of an international team of five visual designers based in Portugal and in the UK. I’ve created the visual language of our mobile websites and apps (iOS & Android) and I was responsible for the creation of design standards and guidelines. I'd regularly communicate with the UX team and key stakeholders across locations and worked closely with a variety of scrum teams to come up with many solutions to help us work in a more efficient, agile manner. As a team leader, I was also responsible for making sure everybody was happy and motivated and our work as a team was delivered on time.

Visual Designer

As the first Betfair designer in Porto, I’ve had the responsibility of making the connection between the UX team in the UK and the development teams in Portugal. During this time, I’ve worked closely with developers to create comprehensive design specifications to ensure pixel perfect production & implementation of designs throughout development cycle. I’ve also followed and implemented Betfair brand guidelines and patterns ensuring a consistent user experience across multiple channels.
