Outside the reality & pressures of the luxury retail world, fashion exists as culture; a figurative current of image-borne ideas, conceived with ink & paper and expressed through human skin. The designer is no less than artist, the pattern-maker & fabricator no less than artisan. Fashion is not only art, it is the elevation of such.

Transcending the normally alienating relationship between beholder & beheld, fashion invites the audience to participate in its theatre of expression; with each performer adorning themselves in their own carefully-collated assemblage of thoughts, expressions, & ideas; each one visual, most borrowed, and every one subjective. As such, fashion is a vassal for visual communication, a means for its performers to partake in a visual conversation spanning the ages – whose vocabulary is as varied & vast as the collective history of clothing itself.

Enter re. porter – an online amalgam of gallery & boutique; facilitating the continuation of this very conversation by offering its participants a modern environment for the buying, selling, & perusing of garments whose respective values are not governed by time.

re. porter is a direct response to the perfunctory practices of the online mass-discounter market. Designed to navigate like a digital photographic-playground, re. porter not only emphasizes, but relies on the integrity of the stock it houses to unify the store’s minimal aesthetic. Leveraging its consigned wares with dead-stock offerings from highly-coveted artisanal designers – re. porter aims to position itself as the online discounted world’s premiere destination for the discerning collector.
