For our final thesis project in IED Barcelona, we were asked by Italian studio “Bertone” to design a concept car for a company of our choice for the year 2025. The brief was to design a vehicle that would significantly help to reduce the problem of urban traffic congestion by encouraging people to change the way they consume mobility.
We chose Apple as the ideal company to carry out this project- a Car On Demand system that will operate a fleet of small sized auto-driving personal urban vehicles called iGo.

The 3-wheeled electric vehicle is designed almost as a digital appliance preserving the unique aesthetics of Apple Products. To distinguish this system from other car sharing services and promote it, each vehicle can be digitally personalized inside and out during time of use. The whole exterior, made of micro perforated aluminum and transparent polycarbonate, is a projecting surface that changes the appearance of the car according to the preferences of the user. Interestingly enough, the signal lights only appear when needed, through the aluminum surface and the projected license plate changes according to the current user.
 
Thanks to the automatic driving system, the car will pick you up upon request and drop you off where needed, without worrying about parking. The iGo will automatically look for the closest designated parking space where it can wirelessly charge before picking up the next user.
