Flanelle is a team of creative experts (SABRINA BIGNAMI - MARCO BADIANI - ANDREA BALLONI) who combine their know-how regarding interior design and
their technical knowledge of textiles, using recuperated fabrics in a original,
non-conventional way to create interior design projects. On all counts, Flanelle
is a workshop that generates ideas�it’s a collective thought-process that makes
use of the varying, but complementary levels of
expertise spotlighting a sector featuring furniture-textile-interior design products.
The members of this dynamic team include an architect, active internationally,
who works to create architectural projects and interiors with a special kind of
atmosphere. The group also includes two textile technicians: the first works
to create furniture collections and the personalized production of home ware,
while the second is an expert in textiles for contemporary clothing and he works
in various markets around the world.
Work concept: Project on demand
Flanelle works in two main directions:
On demand � responding to and carrying out personalized requests and orders
expressed both by clients and by designers. We create ad hoc products made-to-measure,
inventing tailor-made style solutions; Brand oriented � experimenting with a series
of original products promoted by our sales contacts.
The style of Flanelle productsOur products are designed and manufactured
using fabrics of various origin.
Our textiles, as a raw material, must be interpreted both technically
and stylistically and chosen among the infinite samples available in
the Prato district, which allow for the re-use of cuts and background patches.
In particular, Flanelle uses fabrics borrowed from garments, such as precious
wools typical of high quality tailored menswear. Many of our creations show the
signature of woolen mills. Selvage, which can be used to create pillows, tartan
rugs and interior design items, has become Flanelle’s most original and recognizable
trademark. Some Flanelle creations are inspired by vintage fabrics, tracked down
thanks to far-reaching scout-out projects that bring about the re-discovery of
hard-to-find textiles in storerooms.
Our products are made by hand and ‘sewn in Italy’; their hand-made embroidery
work is carried out with virgin wool yarn.
