Yugen is a digital media lab that designs and develops innovative digital products. I was tasked with creating a logo that would represent the company's philosophy, people, and lab-like process. With this in mind, I collaborated with Hakim El Hattab to create an interactive procedurally generated HTML5 logo that if poked, reacts by changing colour, shape, and speed. The logo also has an extensive range of options available to configure its properties of shape, frame-rate, colors and much more. It is built with a flexible architecture that simplifies the process of adding new types of input enabling Yugen to bringing the logo to life through endless experimentation. The logo reflects Yugen’s dynamic working environment and need to constantly tinker, explore, and evolve.
The current iteration is available for download from GitHub under "Yugen-Logo-Source" and the project is licensed under The MIT Open Source Initiative allowing for the community to create inputs and openly experiment with the source code.
