This project started as an assignment during my MFA at SVA when Kevin O'Callaghan gave us a transparent glass head and instructed us to use it to communicate our creative drive—A peak inside our minds. To illustrate curiosity—my personal drive—I figured the best way was to actually instigate it on the user, make them curious. I made the first iteration of this lamp in January 2010. It was powered with batteries and it had no base. Since then I have made various iterations trying make it a fun yet usable product. I designed a wooden base and had it custom made in Colombia.
