Waterbirth
for The Texas Observer's Story Issue
New work for the Texas Observer’s Story Issue. I’m proud to say that Larina Lavergne, the author of this piece, hails from Raleigh, NC. North Carolina and North Carolinians are so good that they win short-fiction prizes in other states (diaspora North Carolinian here). I love drawing for fiction, and this piece was certainly no exception. How often does one have the privilege of drawing a drunk woman giving birth in a kiddie pool in the middle of a trailer park? I mean, I’m practically home. My sincere thanks to Kate and EmDash for this one. And God Bless Texas, of course.
