Public space integrated with a skate park in Guararema, SP - Brazil
Architectural Design: ODVO Architecture and Urbanism
Co-authoring: Daniel Arnoni
Location: Vila Nogueira, Guararema - SP
Project: May, 2004

Built almost in the entire square extension, the track merges with the paths, crosses the stage and the central plaza and clings to public facilities and vegetation, in harmony with its surroundings. Without being confused with pedestrian sidewalks, this complex extends from the area of recreational facilities adjacent to the existing plaza and imposes no physical or visual barrier.

The idea of the skate track, is that the skater always can create new possibilities for lines, where he has to put his individual creativity over the obstacles that appears along the circuit he choses. This diversity of obstacles ends up being so much fun for those who like transitions as for those who likes to walk on the streets.

Given the existing nature preservation and stimulation to it's contact and shading the track and the roads, the only two existing trees were preserved and fourteen are being planted in the new extension of the entire square. It also has locker rooms, toilets, drinking fountains, stage and a bridge over the river Guararema that connects the square to a parallel street.
