The Plaza Adelante Intervention located on 19th and Mission St. in the Mission District of San Francisco was originally conceived of as a series of continuous coils. The intent behind the projects conception was based around the nature of Plaza Adelante’s relationship with the Mission community and the organizations housed within Plaza Adelante itself. The mobile vendor carts are designed to be multi-functional when they are in and out of use by their renters. Their dimensions meet requirements for use inside Plaza Adelante and outside on the sidewalks.
Carts are six feet long and two feet wide, with counter heights at 22” and 34”, both ADA accessible. The different heights of the counter can be used for the display of different sizes of merchandise as well as function as a bench-space and tabletop.
