THE SITE: 16 TH STREET TRAIN STATION, WEST OAKLAND, CA, USA

THESIS STATEMENT:
“SHADOWS AS A SYMBOL OF PRESENCE OF THE PAST”

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF PRESENCE OF THE 16 TH STREET TRAIN STATION THROUGH CREATING A NEW BUILDING OF ITS SHADOWS.

I TOOK ALL OBJECTS ON THE SITE THAT CAN CREATE SUFFICIENT SHADOWS. THEN I TOOK SHADOWS OF THESE OBJECTS AT 5 DIFFERENT TIMES OF THE DAYIN JUNE, ACCORDING TO THE OAKLAND SUN PATH DIAGRAM.

RECEIVED FORM WAS MODIFIED ACCORDING TO THE PROGRAM, WHICH WAS ASSIGNED BY INSTRUCTORS. IT WAS: VERTICAL FARM, VISITOR’S CENTER, MARKET AND HOUSING.

IN MY PROJECT THE FARM WAS GOING TO GROW COTTON. FOR THIS REASON THE BUILDING OF THE FARM WAS INCORPORATED WITH THE COTTON FACTORY,ATELIER AND OTHER SUPPORTING FACILITIES.
