“We have been beyond pleased with the graphics Daktronics has provided for our football gameday experience,” said Robin Taylor, Director of Marketing and Promotions at ULM. “We have a unique mascot in the Warhawk and a beautiful landscape with Bayou DeSiard that runs through campus. It was important to us to capture both of these great features in our intro video and Daktronics exceeded our expectations and wishes. The design team at Daktronics captured amazing scenes incorporating the WWII fighter plane our mascot is derived from, a wonderful life-like hawk, and the beauty of the bayou. Daktronics did a great job encompassing our theme across the boardwith our intro video, crowd prompts and graphics, and the overall fan experience has been greatly enhanced by the elements Daktronics has provided to us!”
The open was well received and I attribute that to the joint exploration and development conversations we had with the ULM marketing team and head coach. Neither side had a pre-existing direction for the piece, but through a strong creative dialog we were able to arrive at something that was both relevant to the university and to their history while also being visually dramatic and captivating. We included the Warhawk, the bayou and the World War II fighter plane that really set the tone for the rest of the animation. I was also very pleased with the contribution from some of our students on their help with the background production of the piece.
