My brand concept for this graphics and printing house needed to be both bold and simple, while concisely conveying what the company does. I decided on bright, bold colors that would showcase the quality of their inks. The simplicity of the design allows the color and grid structure to visually dominate and highlight the elements of unit and precision. The challenge in this project was deciding how to illustrate unit and measurement in a fun and vibrant way that was reminiscent of traditional measuring devices, yet moved beyond them. I chose to create each letter with the same width, and varying heights, to appear similar to a vertical bar graph. The tick marks in the design are like those found on both graphs and rulers. I reiterated the four color bars throughout the design, because they represented units and also reminded me of print streaks.
