In collaboration with The Lab, a limited run of screen printed posters has been created for Print for Good. Supported by GF Smith papers, PFG is a print specific project to raise money for good causes. Those causes are selected by the contributing artists. With that in mind, an African inspired poster was made to raise money for ASAP, a programme of self-help and empowerment in Zimbabwe.

Much thanks to everyone involved in this project: to GF Smith papers for the excellent paper, to Savwo for an expertly handled job with the screen printing, and much thanks to Peggy at The Lab with whom it’s been great working on this project.
Under An African Sun is a screen printed poster, which was illustrated using brush, pen and indian ink.
It has been textured throughout and given a background pattern all with this process in mind.
The screen printing was handled by Savwo, who’s given a remarkable vibrance to the image.
Three colours have been hand pulled onto yellow GF Smith stock.
The stock is 250 gram and has been cropped to A2 size.
The custom background was inked in the same way as the main image. It is a design inspired by
African textile patterns, which has been named Shells and Shields.
Profits from the sale of this poster go to the ASAP program, so any sharing
or back-linking to this blog post are greatly appreciated.
A limited run of 40 A2 prints have been made. Order yours online here
