The photography in this project comes from time I spent in Uganda in the fall of 2007. While in Uganda, I taught a term at a secondary school in Ntenjeru Village in the Mukono District. I also assisted my friends with their projects providing life-saving mosquito nets to pregnant women, young children, people living with HIV/AIDS, and the elderly (Malaria’s most affected victims). We worked with a Uganda-run non-profit organization called VOLSET. Half of the proceeds from the print sales will be donated to them. http://www.volsetfoundationug.org/ Read Less

Uganda
the pearl of Africa
In 2007 I traveled to Uganda in East Africa where I volunteered as an English and math teacher at a secondary school in a village called Ntenjeru. In addition to teaching, I collaborated with friends at a local NGO called VOLSET for a number of service projects, including Malaria prevention and HIV/AIDS education.
