This graphite drawing of a wolf and fox is about the love of my life, Francisco, and I. The fox is a clever, adaptable, and cunning creature. Foxes can be found in any environment worldwide, they are known for being survivors. They are independent soloists with the ability to hide in plane sight. The wolf is a creature of loyalty a pack animal. Wolves are smart creatures who will defend their pack to the death. They are vicious when trifled with, and dangerous when their family or packs are threatened. The interaction I'm illustrating here is that of an amiable nature. A fox sleeping under the vigilant watch of a wolf. I am the fox and he is the wolf. The composition is laid out horizontally with both figures placed in the upper half of the drawing. The horizontal plane indicates stability and comfort. The interaction between the two animals is one of trust and security, two traits that are worth noting in any relationship. This piece is a marriage between traditional and digital mediums. © Kimberly Van Dam 2013 all rights reserved. Read Less
