Redesign of the album cover fro Death Cab For Cutie's Transatlanticism
For a recent project I decided to redesign one of my favourite records; Death Cab For Cutie's Transatlanticism. The brief required that the main content was made by hand and then developed upon digitally. Thematically, Transatlanticism speaks of distance, most notably in the title track, the zenith point of the record. This picture of the creation of the atlantic, occupying the earth, separating the lands, became the main route of thought. Instead of taking these words literally, I chose to represent this idea of this unending distance with the sublime unknown of space mentioned in the following track Passenger Seat.
