Being a huge HipHop fan since the first new-school era (1984-1985) way back in the days. The first thought that ran through my mind when I read ’90 hiphop Theme’ was the Native Tongues stepping to the scene in the early nineties, which lead me directly to A Tribe Called Quest (and others). Then, since HipHop contains the element of Graffiti and I didn’t want to just spell the title I decided to put put two and two together and came up with this design involving the Cactus and the road sign.
The guys at Thievesandhonour.com meanwhile thought my other design, based more on a kind of Mexican flavored lettering, would fit the competition better.
