Below is some of my work from my time as a graphic artist for The Arkansas Traveler. It includes the cover and an interior page for Dead Day fall 2008 tabloid, some business cards, and some collateral.
I developed the idea of a chaotic work space for the cover and executed it by taking some of my own studying materials and photographing them. Then, I worked through the text layout. The content of this paper is supposed to be a little fun, stress relieving. So, we mixed fun features. I created a color by numbers and designed ads based on client input.
The collateral items were meant to give the different divisions of student media a unique, clean feeling, while bringing unity within each branch of student media. Previously, all the different forms and promotional items for the Traveler had been created at different times by different people. So, I worked with the advertising manager to apply a new identity to the Traveler. Now, when the sales team makes calls they have a more organized, professional, and unified voice.
