Mixed Media (Pencil and Watercolor) on Stonehendge paper 14 x 18" My concentration is based on the poem “The Raven” by Edgar Allen Poe. It contains the same events as the poem but I incorporated my interpretation of it and my reactions. In the poem and in my concentration there is a man who has just been dumped by his love and he is sitting in his house thinking of her and daydreaming, then he hears a knock at the door: he goes to open it and nobodies at the door, so he opens the window to get some fresh air and a raven flies in. Next it lands on something in his home and he beings to talk to the raven telling it his problems and soon after it talks back! saying “Nevermore” over and over until he goes insane.my preferred medium is watercolor because I feel water based mediums such as ink and watercolor are easier to manage; you can always add more water to correct your mistake, and after the paint has dried I enjoy enhancing the shadows with pencil. Also when you used mixed media you take full advantage of the subject matter and overall have a better outcome, keeping color theory in mind with subtle complimenting colors in the pieces. Read Less
