At the beginning of December I decided to take part in an art contest. I did my research and a lot of thinking and in due course, in January I made two paintings. The one presented here is the one I decided not to submit. This decision was not taken because it was the "lesser" of the two but because I thougth that the other one matched the context better. I am particularly fond of this painting as well. I think it is rather atmospheric . I worked iwth oil-colors on book cloth. The dimensions are 90cm h. by 60cm w. Here you can see four preliminary stages as well. As always I did no drawings before but started working right on the canvas. I shall not elaborate on the subject-matter either, apart from the fact that I tried to create a dreamy, tranquil yet edgy  mood. Thank you for visiting.
