Sound Design - The Organ System

This project was undertaken during my MA Music Production course.  I constructed a piece of sound design for an educational film exploring the vital organs of the human body.  The piece was created through using conventionally recorded musical elements from a session carried out with the band Milk White White Teeth.  These recordings included vocal phrases, drums and percussion, electric guitars, acoustic guitars, mandolins, keyboards and cornets.

These elements were then processed using a variety of software including MacPOD, SoundHack, Pro Tools, and Kontakt.  The aim was to create an ambient soundscape which evolved with the exploration of the different organs and to blur the boundaries between music, ambience and sound fx.
An Odd New World

Here are some isolated examples of the sounds created for the final mix, the source material includes acoustic guitars and glockenspiels.
