Visual identity for the Museum of Sønderjylland
Visual identity for the Museum of Sønderjylland, a Danish group of museums fusioning into one of modern art.

Researching art and its many faces, we discovered the chronological use of timelines when defining periods of artistic ways. Especially interesting on this timeline, is the period of modern art as it is defined as being a definite milestone in time, rebellious in its expression and rule breaking compared to earlier terms.

With the chronological timeline and the modern art period as inspiration, we created a simplified version of the art timeline, placing the period of modern art as a skewed point; a symbol of its way of standing out. Working with modern art as a skewed point in time, we created a font (based on Century Gothic) of both straight and skewed lines – a font symbolizing the modern art period, its alternative ways and how it differs from the rest.

This project was made in collaboration with Kasper Pyndt.
