The dairy farm was the place I grew up. Following Dad to work, feeding the calves, bearing as much responsibility that a young child could.
Throughout my upbringing, as with today, debates of the Dairy industry were common. I have witnessed many opinions, topics from milk prices, and EU laws on importing produce, to the controversial badger cull. These topics may hang in the bleakness of some images, but this body of work was initially inspired by my discovery of the mega dairy. How can a rotating dairy serving 3000 cows, who are reared indoors be humane?
By photographing the spaces on the farm I hope to inspire debate, to provoke thought and questions of all our roles in both social, and moral contexts.
