Loosely based on numerous incidents of American citizens of Arab backgrounds and Muslim faith being detained at the U.S./Canada border, the film depicts the story of one family’s encounter with the harsh realities faced by many Muslim Americans. A story involving Muslim American identity politics, issues of national security, and America’s greater responsibility to it citizens, “The Boundary” is also at its heart a film about family and what personal costs a father will go through to protect the innocence of his daughter. Loosely based on numerous incidents of American citizens of Arab backgrounds and Muslim faith being detained at the U.S./Canda border, the film depicts the story of one family's encounter with the harsh realities faced by many Muslim Americans.
