  • I was commissioned by El Malpensante magazine, Colombia, to create three illustrations for an Isaac Bashevis Singer story called 'The Author.'
What interested me in the first place about this gig was the fact that this was first time the text was translated from Yiddish to Spanish. The story narrates the misadventures of a ghost writer and his relationship with a mysterious and unreliable man—an alleged movie producer— who hires him to write the latter's memoirs. Due the bizarre friendship that flourishes between the two men, the distinction between each one's memories blurs through time, allowing me to create a series of images based on Art Spiegelman's The Malpractice Suite.
