Pygmy Llamas were a rare breed of camelid that inhabited central and south America. It is said that they were the royal pets of Inca´s emperors. They were a gift from the Pacha Mama to Manco Cápac at the birth of his first child, Sinichi Roca. They were considered magical animals, with powers over time and space.One of these llamas was Taypi, born in the year 1490 and royal pet of Ninan Cuyuchi (1490-1527), son of Huayna Capac (1465-1525) and next in line to become Emperor.His name meant the center, the beginning. According to legend, it was believed that the emperor who owned this llama wouls face great decisions that would change the course of the world.
