This is an experimental, personal short film about the bright sides of the dark times in life - about the moments you wished never happened. Shot on location in Downtown Los Angeles in December 2010, utilizing the Canon EOS 7D, with 30 people (mostly students) on set. We produced this film partially guerilla-style, which got us into a lot of trouble - but there would have been no other affordable way to do it...! Read Less

TERMINATED

'Terminated' (2011) is an experimental short film by Tobias Deml. We meet a crying, devastated young man on a bus station in a world that is running backwards. After we find out what happened to him, time reverses and destiny changes, tragically reuniting him with a person he felt very connected to. Starring Darrel Cherney, Bruce St. Martin and Heidi Herrmann.

The film's narrative bends time and reality, shot in a one-shot aesthetic, with a guerilla-style production ... which led to some risky business.

The Firefighters and Police showed up on set - our Guerilla-style shoot with risky content attracted too much attention, even from 9-1-1 emergency calls ... with a ton of luck we got away with it.
The Office Space before Production Designer Ferdinand Spalt got his hands on it...!
Real Guerilla Style: with a self-built shoulder mount, DP Hiroki Kamada is framing the opening shot of the film, while 1st AC Teruaki Onodera pulls focus by "feeling"; no followfocus rig or focus marks were used.
The lighting setup of the office scene, whatever we could pull together from our college's equipment room .. got pretty crowded in there!
