Sub Rosa worked in concert with Syfy for their 2011 TED experience to suspend the idea of attending a conference and transporting yourself to another place. The space became home to a “creature terrarium” of fabricated other-worldly animals that brought the space to life. In addition, custom lighting installations added a mood that made the space glow from corner to corner. In addition, a life simulcast was streamed to New York where Syfy executives and advertisers were able to virtually join the conversations at TED through telepresence robots from Anybots. These robots in both markets allowed New York and Long Beach attendees to have virtual conversations and explore each other’s spaces while on opposite coasts. New York’s experience was topped off with a molecular gastronomy demonstration and food service that reimagined traditional dishes in new ways for diners. All in all the experience offered attendees in both markets the ability to see the curiosity and intrigue that Syfy is capable of spreading. Read Less
